Hanumat
SOFTWARE FOR VEDIC ASTROLOGY
Reading the order of heaven, quietly.
Hanumat is a calculation tool for classical Vedic astrology. Built upon the Parashari system and informed by the tradition carried forward by Shri K. N. Rao, it aims to perform the computations a working astrologer relies upon with the greatest accuracy attainable.
It is not an attempt to ornament divination, nor to automate it. Casting a chart, following the dashas, weighing the strength of the planets — Hanumat exists to support that patient, unglamorous work quietly and dependably. Interpretation remains the art of the astrologer; the software only sets the board.
Each result has been checked, one by one, against established astrological computations and the classical texts — from the divisional charts through the several dasha systems, Shadbala, the Avasthas and the yogas. Points on which the traditions differ — such as the ayanamsha or the definition of the dasha year — are left selectable in the settings, so the tool can bear scholarly use.
This software is not a commercial undertaking. It is offered freely — as a modest service to the study and practice of jyotisha, and to those who come to be read.
